Candle care
To get the best from your Monscents candle, follow these simple steps.
First burn: Allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges before extinguishing. This prevents tunnelling and ensures an even burn every time. First burns typically take 2–3 hours.
Trim the wick: Before each burn, trim the wick to 5mm. This keeps the flame clean, reduces soot, and extends the life of your candle.
Burn time: Never burn for more than 4 hours at a time. Allow the candle to cool completely before relighting.
Safe burning: Always burn on a heat-resistant surface, away from draughts, children, and pets. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
End of life: Once 1cm of wax remains, stop burning. Clean the jar with warm soapy water and repurpose it — our jars make beautiful small vases or storage pots.
