Candle care
Share these candle care tips with whoever receives your gift so they get the most from every burn.
First burn: Allow the wax to melt to the edges before extinguishing — this takes 2–3 hours and prevents tunnelling.
Trim the wick: Trim to 5mm before each burn for a clean, soot-free flame.
Burn time: Never burn for more than 4 hours at a time. Allow to cool fully before relighting.
Safe burning: Always burn on a heat-resistant surface, away from draughts, children, and pets.
End of life: Once 1cm of wax remains, stop burning. The jar can be cleaned and repurposed as a vase or storage pot.
Why Monscents
Every Monscents candle is hand-poured in small batches in Maastricht, Netherlands, using 100% natural soy wax, premium fragrance oils, and a lead-free cotton wick.
We never use paraffin, synthetic dyes, or harmful additives. Soy wax burns up to 50% longer than paraffin and releases fragrance more evenly, filling the whole room rather than just a small radius around the flame.
